Coenzyme Q10
Other wise known as Ubiquinone, Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is avitamin-like substance that is essential for the health of all
human tissues. CoQ10 is a vital catalyst in the provision of
usable energy that all human cells need for life. Every one of
these cells may be regarded as a tiny engine pumping out energy
for use in all our biological requirements.
It is an enzyme that is naturally produced in the body that is
used in the energy producing cycles of converting calories to
energy. Whilst the body makes coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), a dietary
source can contribute significantly to the bodies supply. Most
CoQ10 is found within minute cell structures called mitochondria
that are present within all living cells (similar to the
cylinder of an engine where combustion takes place).
Mitochondria are the energy generators of the cells and are
required most in areas of the body that have high metabolic
rates eg. liver, muscles and heart.
