Selenium and Heart disease

The first clue to the relationship to the relationship between
low selenium intake and heart disease came from studies in china
in populations living in very low selenium soil areas. There is
a specific heart complaint called Keshan disease, which can be
completely prevented and in some cases and in some cases cured
by simple selenium supplementation. This approach would be
expected to benefit other heart problems associated with
prolonged low selenium intakes.
