ascorbic acid

Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C)
Vitamin C is a valuable nutrient known to be involved either
directly or indirectly in over 300 biochemical pathways in the
body. Unlike most other animals, humans can no longer synthesis
vitamin C in the body and so we rely instead on a constant
supply everyday from our food. Our daily requirement for vitamin

C is higher than for any other water soluble vitamin. It is
highly unstable and easily destroyed by the processes of
storing, peeling freezing and cooking, hence it is not always
possible to be sure how much is taken in the diet.

The difference between natural or organic vitamin C, and
ordinary ascorbic acid is primarily in the individuals ability
to digest it. The effectiveness of vitamin C is maximised by
using in conjunction with bioflavonoids, calcium or magnesium.
