mission statement

Defence against free radicals
Most free radical reactions in the body involve initial attack
by oxygen free radicals. Compounds that provide a defence
against free radical oxidation are antioxidants and act in one
of two ways:

  1. Preventative antioxidants inactivate free radicals before
they have chance to initiate an oxidation chain reaction.

  2. Chain-breaking antioxidants interfere with an oxidation
chain once it has started by trapping free radicals and
    terminating the reaction.
The bodices control systems for free radicals include enzymes
and natural free radical scavengers like vitamin C and E
(contained in partypacks). These cannot completely control the
free radicals, some of them do escape and cause damage, which
can accumulate over the years if preventative action is not taken.
