Vitamin E
Vitamin E is the mst powerful antioxidant found in the body. It
is fat soluble and is both stored and transported around the
body dissolved in fats (where as vitamin C is confined to
aqueous tissues). Vitamin E protects polyunsaturated fats from
being oxidised into saturated fat and free radicals, and this
protects all membranes including those in blood vessel walls. It
also protects vitamin A & C, selenium, and 2 sulphur amino
acids. This protective role of vitamin E has pushed it to the
centre of worldwide research, with vitamin C and beta carotene,
into the relationship between the intake of nutrients and our
long term health.
