Openwide thrust 'A Wheelie Bin Ate My Sister! in the face of
Edinburgh on the Cavalcade, a huge procession of more than fifty
floats, marching bands and strangely dressed people, which
marks the official opening of the worlds largest arts festival The
Edinburgh Festival. We collaborated with the District Council's
Environmental services who loaned us a gleaming new rubbish
cart and veteran Dustman John, our driver. Spearheaded by
Robin Rubbish Prince of Trash and swathed in posters, balloons
and banners, Dustman John proceeded, stately as a galleon with
Pete the skeleton by his side waving graciously at the 200,000 or
so people lining the streets. Meanwhile Sylvester Sebastian
Slither, the Wozbods and heroine Stella Bell scurried back and
forth handing out leaflets, balloons and badges.
