Zinc

Zinc works with enzymes in the body and is possibly involved in
protein and nucleic acid synthesis. It acts as a traffic
policeman, directing and overseeing the efficient flow of body
processes, the maintenance of the enzyme system and cells.

It is more difficult to obtain enough zinc in your diet than any
other mineral because of modern agriculture techniques and food
processing methods. Vegetables contain lower amounts of zinc and
sometimes this is bound up to indigestible fibre further
reducing useable zinc.
