Protecting the Heart
Vitamin E's antioxidant properties stops free radical attack of
fats, and should be considered as the prime protective agent in
the fatty parts of the body. The build-up of fatty deposits in
the blood vessels, particularly those of the heart, is now
believed to be due to free radicals attacking the fats normally
present in the blood. This condition is called Atherosclerosis
and the chances of this developing depend upon the extent of the
damage caused by free radicals on the proteins in the blood.
